This is already the third version of the website we have created for Plošiny Pelikán — we launched the first one for them back in 2008. With technically oriented companies, we always look for ways to avoid a templated look. We opted for a clear structure, bold typography and custom pictograms.
We chose a typeface with sharp, angular shapes and a sturdy construction — evoking metal, machinery and technical parts. Combined with yellow and dark grey, it naturally echoes the look of construction equipment and helps communicate the company's strength and stability without unnecessary words.
Pelikán's range is broad and there are many types of equipment — which makes it all the more important to be able to find your way around quickly. So we designed a set of pictograms that distinguish the individual machine categories at a glance. They share a consistent style, fit into the visual identity and make the website clearer without a single extra word.
The main challenge was the sheer breadth of the range — dozens of machine types, several categories and various rental options. We built the website around a simple principle: within a few clicks, visitors must know whether Pelikán has what they need and how to get it. Navigation, catalogue structure and the machine detail page were all shaped by that — anything that didn't help the decision was cut. We paid special attention to the mobile version, as a large share of visits come directly from the field.
The result is a website that reflects how far Pelikán has come over the past few years — bigger, more confident and ready to hold its own among the best in the industry. It works just as well on desktop as on mobile and gives the company room to keep growing without the website holding it back.
We'd like to thank Plošiny Pelikán for our third website together and for a trust that has lasted since 2008. We truly appreciate that, after all these years, the client has once again entrusted us with such an important part of their presentation, and we look forward to seeing where we take Pelikán next.
